It´s really the english version of Mahler´s "Thousand Symphony". I also enjoyed so much with the Rachmaninov Cello Sonata in G minor. It´s a magnetic and amazing work contemporary to the his famous "sweeted" 2nd. Piano Concerto. I listened several times the Schmidt 4th. Symphony and I like it very much. Perhaps because there´s much of Bruckner into this work. I get the opportunity to request to other friends their expert opinion about the "Sea Symphony" and the Rachmaninov Cello Sonata. This Sonata makes me love the Chamber Music! Kind regards from Spain! Fernando.
